Christine Seow is a Singaporean filmmaker based in London. Her short documentary series 'While You Sleep' won Best Documentary at the Asia Web Awards 2018 and her short films 'Rojak Romance' and '21' have been screened at various international film festivals. Her film 'Beyond These Walls' was nominated for the Grierson Awards 2024.
Prior to COVID-19, she was studying in Beijing Film Academy’s Directing Department. With a IMDA scholarship, she graduated with a Master's in Directing Documentary at the National Film and Television School in the UK.
Her graduation film 'Two Travelling Aunties' premiered at Inside Out and Doc Edge, and is currently on the festival circuit screening at Asian American International Film Festival, Bangkok International Film Festival, Scottish Queer International Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, and many others. The film won Best Student Short at KASHISH Pride Film Festival and Best Documentary at Eye Catcher Short Awards. Christine is currently developing this into a feature documentary.
Christine was part of the Youth Jury & Critics Programme during the 2016 Singapore International Film Festival and has written for SINdie, a local film critic website. She was also a participant at Docs by the Sea in 2021 and 2025.
She is captivated by female-driven narratives and stories that are underrepresented or focus on minority perspectives. She also directs commercials and corporate videos while developing her films on the side.
